Following QinetiQ's purchase of Novare, our strong leadership team is lined up to drive the Australian business forward, taking advantage of the substantial resources and complementary skills that QinetiQ will bring to bear.

Greg Wilcock    
Managing Director
                                                  
Greg became the Managing Director of QinetiQ Novare in 2006 after leading the growth of the company from a 3 man operation in 2002. Greg has over 20 years of systems engineering, logistics management and project management experience in both the Defence environment and the commercial sector.

Greg gained his weapons and armament experience as an engineering officer in the Royal Australian Air Force where he held Senior Design Engineer (SDE) status for all Australian Army, Navy and Air Force weapons. Prior to discharge from the Air Force in 1999, Greg was the logistics manager for Air Force weapons, including all aircraft ejection systems.

Greg has an Honours degree in Chemical Engineering, a Masters degree in Explosive Ordnance Engineering and is a Chartered Professional Engineer.




Jonathan Carroll
Operations Manager                                 

After serving in the Royal Air Force for 20 years, Jon joined QinetiQ Novare in July 2006 and has been Operations Manager since February 2007.  In this role, he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the company’s operations and reports directly to the Managing Director.

In the Royal Air Force, Jon was an Aerosystems Engineering Officer.  He held a number of aircraft and weapon related appointments, including a position at the Royal Air Force Armament Support Unit.  Latterly, he worked with several aerospace companies to advise and assist with the development of in-service support arrangements for various aircraft types and weapon systems.

Jon is a Master of Business Administration, a postgraduate qualified engineer and a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner.  He is also a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and is registered with the Engineering Council (UK).




Mike Manchee    
Manager New Projects

Mike joined QinetiQ Novare in 2006 to manage the company’s new projects. In this role he is responsible for the development of new products and services to meet the diverse and evolving needs of Novare’s customers.

Mike gained his engineering and project management experience as an armament engineer in the Royal Australian Air Force. During his military career Mike served in several flying, maintenance and combat support squadrons in addition to holding logistics management positions including Deputy Chief Engineer at the Joint Ammunition Logistics Organisation. Mike was also involved in a diverse range of capital acquisition engineering and project management roles in the Defence Materiel Organisation.

Mike has an Honours degree in Metallurgical Engineering and a Masters degree in Explosive Ordnance Engineering.





Dennis Nothdurft   
Chief Engineer   

Dennis joined QinetiQ Novare in 2004 as a Business Unit Manager before moving into the position of Chief Engineer, where he is responsible for the coordination of, and compliance with, the company’s Engineering Management System.  Dennis's  weapons and armament experience was gained as an engineering officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, initially on F-111s and later serving as the Senior Guided Weapons Engineer and the Deputy Chief Engineer at the Joint Ammunition Logistics Organisation (now GWEO).

Dennis holds the distinction of having been authorised as a Design Engineer by the Chief Engineer of the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Branch on all types of ADF guided missiles and non-guided explosive ordnance. Dennis has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering,  a Masters degree in Aerosystems Engineering and is a Chartered Professional Engineer.



Lyndon Tilbrook
Business Manager - Acquisition Support (Canberra)

Lyndon Tilbrook has significant experience in systems engineering and test and evaluation in the Defence environment with his strengths including safety engineering and explosive ordnance (EO) certification.

Lyndon gained his weapons and armament experience as an engineering officer in the Royal Australian Air Force, initially on F-111s. In later postings Lyndon served as the Chief Engineer at the Joint Ammunition Logistics Organisation, on exchange to the UK Ministry of Defence in the Defence Ordnance Safety Group and also as the ADF’s Director of Ordnance Safety. Lyndon holds the distinction of having been appointed as both a Chief Engineer under the RAAF technical airworthiness system and as a Level 2 engineer under the RAN technical regulatory framework, one of a few individuals to do so.

Lyndon has a degree in Engineering and a Masters degree in Explosive Ordnance Engineering and is a Chartered Professional Engineer.



Matt Hansell
Business Manager - Aero Systems (Newcastle)

Matt Hansell left the Royal Australian Air Force after serving for 16 years as an Aerospace Engineering Officer and joined QinetiQ Novare in 2003.  His particular strengths are in gas turbine engine technology, aircraft weight and balance management and the development of contracts for the modification or support of aerospace-related technical equipment.

Matt has ADF Technical Regulatory experience from his role as leader of the ADF Propulsion System Centre of Expertise (now known as DGTA-ESI) within the Directorate General Technical Airworthiness, and from his role as Deputy Chief Engineer Tactical Fighter System Program Office (TFSPO). Matt has also held Design Engineer engineering authority at TFSPO for the F/A-18 engine and secondary power systems since 2000.

Matt’s qualifications include a Master of Science in Thermal Power, Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) (Aerospace) and a Graduate Diploma of Business (Management) and is a Chartered Professional Engineer.




Andrew Jacopino
Business Manager - Performance Based Contracting (Canberra)

Andrew has over 15 years of weapons, logistics engineering and contract experience in the Defence environment, including Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) engineering and Performance Based Contracting (PBC)/Performance Based Logistics (PBL).  Before leaving the RAAF in 2006, Andrew was the RAM subject matter expert for Aerospace Systems Division (ASD) within the Defence Materiel Organisation.

As an Air Force armament engineering officer, he held Design Engineer (DE) status for all Australian Defence Force Guided Weapons, including Army and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) weapons.

As well as being a Certified Reliability Engineer, Andrew’s extensive qualifications include a PhD (Reliability Engineering), Masters of Science (Aerosystems), Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace) (Hons).




Daniel Christie    
Business Manager - Subject Matter Experts (Brisbane)

Daniel joined  QinetiQ Novare in 2007 and leads the QinetiQ Novare team of Subject Matter Experts in the fields of Insensitive Munitions, Electro-Explosive Hazards and Weapons Integration.

Daniel’s engineering, management and project management experience was gained during his career as an armament officer in the Royal Australian Air Force. During this career, Daniel served as a maintenance officer on the P3 Orion aircraft, an aeromechanical, armament and life support design engineer for all Australian Army helicopter types and as a design engineer and project engineering manager on numerous air weapon integration projects.
 
Daniel has an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters degree in Aerosystems Engineering and is a Chartered Professional Engineer..




Mike Rigby
Business Manager - Through Life Support (Sydney)

Mike Rigby has over 15 years of systems engineering, logistics management and project management experience in the Defence environment. Mike gained his weapons and armament experience as a Technical Officer/ Professional Officer with the Australian Department of Defence in the areas of guided weapons maintenance and as a senior engineer in the areas of non-guided explosive ordnance and ammunition test and evaluation.

Since working for QinetiQ Novare, Mike has been involved in a number of projects including the development of explosive ordnance related policy and numerous studies in the areas of insensitive munitions and propellant qualification testing to support the Mulwala Redevelopment Project.   

Mike has an honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Explosive Ordnance Engineering. Mike is also a Chartered Professional Engineer and holds GWEO engineering authority at the level of Design Engineer for all non-guided explosive ordnance managed by Defence.
